Read the whole Bible at your own pace, about three chapters a day, starting at Genesis 1.
Sharpen: lay the foundation, follow the threads through the whole Bible (promises, prayer, heaven, the life of Jesus and more), and learn to give an answer.
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4
About Armed with the Word
Armed with the Word is here for one reason: to put God's word into as many hands as possible, for free.
When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He answered every temptation the same way: It is written. Scripture was His answer, and it can be ours. Everyone should be able to read it, search it, and carry it with them, wherever they are and whatever they have.
Everything here is free, and it will always be free for as long as this website stays up.
Please share it. Send it to your family, your friends, your church, and anyone who needs the word of God. Spread it as far as you can.
I will keep building more for this website, so keep coming back to see what is new.
Help spread the word
Print a flyer and hand it out: at church, at work, on a notice board, to anyone. Each one has a code that opens this site when a phone's camera is pointed at it.

To see how the site is used, it counts visits: which pages are read, by day, and whether on a phone or a computer. No cookies, and nothing that tells who you are.
Your notes, highlights and tags are kept on your phone only. To keep a copy safe, or to move them to a new phone, use Back up or move to another phone on My Study.
Where the words come from
The Bible text on this site comes from one carefully chosen source: the Pure Cambridge Edition of the King James Bible, a careful edition of the King James text as printed by Cambridge. Its publisher, bibleprotector.com, offers it free for any use.
Here is how it is checked:
It is used exactly as published. Nothing is reworded, updated or corrected. The only changes are in how it looks: the words the translators added are shown in italics, as in printed King James Bibles, and the headings and notes in the source are kept.
Every time the site is built, the source file is checked against a digital fingerprint taken when it was first downloaded. If even one letter had changed, the site would refuse to build.
Every build counts the whole Bible: 66 books, 1,189 chapters and 31,102 verses. If any number is off, the site refuses to build.
Every verse was compared with four other public copies of the King James Bible. 30,966 verses match another copy word for word, and 9 more differ only in spelling, hyphens or capital letters. Each of the other 127 was looked at. They are this edition's own spellings, like "inquire" where others print "enquire", plus one place name in Ezra 2:26 that the publisher's own second copy and the matching list in Nehemiah 7:30 both confirm.
Every verse quoted on the pages of this site is checked word for word against the Bible text before the site goes up.
