Prayer journal

Write a prayer. When it is answered, mark the day and, if you like, what came of it. Kept on this device and in your backup file.

    Settings

    Back up

Your notes, highlights, tags, prayers and reading plans are saved only in this browser on this device. Nobody else can see them. If the browser's saved data is cleared, or the phone is lost, they are gone. Now and then, save a backup file and keep it somewhere safe, like your email or cloud storage. The same file moves them to another phone or computer.

    Restore from a backup file

Adds the notes, highlights, tags, verses you are memorizing, prayers and reading plans from a backup file to this device. Nothing here is deleted: where both have the same verse or prayer, the newer one is kept, and the days read in a plan are put together. You will see what it will do before anything changes.

    Name your highlight colors

Give each color a meaning, like Promises or Commands. The names show on the highlight buttons and here, so you can gather every verse of one kind.

    Learn more

Help for studying a verse: tap a verse, then Learn more (called Resources until October 2026). These books are not part of the copy of the site this device keeps for reading offline, so each one loads over the internet the first time you use it. You can save one on this device to use it with no internet, or switch it off.

    Cross references

Other verses on the same words and subjects. Best first: the ones readers at OpenBible.info found most helpful. Complete list: the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, with its notes.

    Hebrew and Greek

The Hebrew or Greek word behind each phrase of a verse, with Strong's numbers and his dictionary, and every place the word is used in the Bible, grouped by how the King James translates it.

    Matthew Henry

Matthew Henry's Complete Commentary: his section on the passage a verse is in, and his introductions to each book and chapter. It is one man's view of Scripture, written about 300 years ago, not Scripture itself. Each book of the Bible is kept on this device the first time you open it.

    Topics (Nave's Topical Bible)

Orville Nave's Topical Bible (1896): about 5,300 topics, from Aaron to Zion, each with the verses that speak of it. Learn more shows the topics a verse is listed under, and every verse in each.

    Dictionary (Easton's Bible Dictionary)

    M. G. Easton's Bible Dictionary (1897): people, places and things in the Bible explained. It is Easton's explanation, written about 130 years ago, not Scripture itself.

    Counting visits

This site counts visits so its maker can see how many people read it: which page or chapter, phone or computer, and the website a visitor came from. No cookies, and nothing that names you. If you would rather your reading on this device were left out of the numbers, switch it off here.

An installed app keeps its settings apart from the browser, so set it in each one you read in.
